The R/R (Rectifier/Regulator) controls your battery recharge rate from stator output....as needed.....What the battery does not need, the R/R sends to battery ground, which creates heat, ....the R/R needs to dissipate that heat.

The R/R is mounted beneath your battery box.....additionally adsorbing heat from the Goats Belly. Physically Relocating the R/R to the left rear frame allows R/R to catch more air (cooling) to stay cooler, thus eliminating future R/R failures do to heat.
....Requires a simple physical R/R Relocation mounting with a "U" bolt and flat stock to left rear frame (as pictured in many 750 pics) , No re-wiring required.

"... thus eliminating future R/R failures do to heat...."

Ill just as here that there is no proof of this. It seems of course like a logical idea, but R/R units have failed both in the stock location and when relocated.
More stator failures have been reported than R/R failures...but there's been no conclusive evidence that relocating your R/R does anything more than just making you feel better....

I'm agreeing with the knife on this one. I ordered the new shiny one from ebay and it made me feel better.
