Talking Thanks everyone.

Not sure if this is the best place to post but I just wanted to thank everyone and the forum for your help. I just bought a 2000 Vulcan and have so far checked the splines, lubed the splines, rebuilt the front brake calipers and now I'm about to put a 900 seat on for a mod. Couldn't have done it without you. The clymers manual only goes so far. Thanks.

You won't regret the 900 seat. MUCH MUCH better for longer rides. Check the link in my sig.

It would be awesome if you could do some pics and posts of your mod along the way, I'm going to hopefully do one as well soon. I'm pretty nervous about trying it but I need more room on the seat!
