What have you tried so far? Does the engine turn over? Have you checked the spark plugs, fuel petcock open, ignition on, kill switch set to run, etc?

Can you please describe what is happening in more detail. Does it stumble but not start, or just crank and crank?

My VN had really old spark plugs when I bought it, and would barely start after lots of trying. After swapping them to new NGK iridiums it started no problem @ all.

You can test them before you swap them out by pulling one at a time, connecting the wire, and holding the threads up against the engine block while you hit the starter... if you get a nice fat spark, they're good...
