need some help

The bike started and ran fine 2 weeks ago...then i took the tires off...just got the new ones back on..now it wont start.

When the key is turned to on the right blinker on the dash is solid as well as the red oil light and neutral..nothing happens when i hit the start button.

When i turn the key to the "push" mark the blinker both will work..

First things first ....others will be asking/suggesting...

Is the bike in neutral ?
Did you pull the clutch lever in when attempting to start ?
Has the key switch been a little flakey anytime in the past ? If so, Maybe it is showing its ugly face now.
I s the battery still fully charged ?

First things first

I'm leaning toward a faulty key switch needing a rebuild.

Check your wiring as I see you have hardbags w/ blinkers built in. Is something grounding?

I had the wires for the blinkers goofed up or crossed..fixed that..and that fixed the blinker issue.

Im thinking the battery is just dead...i charged it last weekend...
its a cheaper $70 sealed battery...i normally get 2-3 years from them.

Im gonna let it charge again overnite and try tomorrow after work..i gotta go to town tomorrow to get oil...may pick up a new battery while im at it.

Also what kinda oil u recommend... i normally run valvoline motorcycle 10w40.

Yeah I use the same here. What you're using is totally fine too. Whatever works, as long as it isnt "energy conserving" high mileage oil.

Glenn....sounds like the crossed wires on the blinkers may have drained your battery.
Now that you have them fixed, your battery hopefully will charge and you should be back in business.
