chaps cleaning help

My leather chaps fell down on the floor and my dog thought it wa a good idea to mark them very well. It wasn't on the outside much but soaked the inside lining. How do I clean them? Soap water and a hose or dry clean? Or is there a better way? any help would be great.

How do cows do it? What? Cows don't get wasted and pee on each other? Pee'd on my roommate in college. Walked right over to his bed in my sleep (blackout) and thought he was the urinal. No lie.

Lol that's too funny.and yes cows do get wasted.keep them away from apples.apples ferment in their stomach and if they eat enough(and believe me when I say cows KNOW this) they will get drunk.its very funny to watch.

Murphy's oil soap. Put a cup into a 5 gallon bucket and fill with warm water- mix well... Put the chaps in the bucket (lining facing out)
Agitate by hand for twenty minutes. Rinse lining only by spraying with hose. Then hang to dry. A box fan aides here. When dry to touch treat leather with mink oil.

We grew up with cats and in the country near farms so there were occasionally field mice trying to get into the cars and house. You'll want something enzyme based. The best thing I've found by far is SCOE 10x (super-concentrated odor eliminator). It keeps working as long as it stays damp. My chaps were second hand and reek like dog and smoke... so I'm going to soak my chaps and roll them up for a few hours this weekend and just condition really well afterward (Leather CPR is amazing).

Just a reminder....if washing leather (yes, it can be done)....whilst drying, make sure to put "forms" inside....leather will shrink when it dries....afterwards, treat it with neatsfoot oil.......that will bring the suppleness back...

After a bad fight down in Jersey once (no details), I threw my Perfecto jacket into a washer....worked great....but then I air dried with stuff shoved into the sleeves, and wraped it around an old tire I had......
