sad to say i am on my way...

I sold my vn 750 1985 yesterday to a motorcycle mechanic who is also a bike collector. He came in with his tools and, after a long examination and a good ride, found the bike to be in good working order ( I kind of felt rather proud }

He took my spare part bike as well along with both registered titles for a 1000.00$ which amount to what I paid for both originally. I guess we can say that we both had a good deal.

I will miss the bike but I am getting a 2001 Vulcan 800 classic this week. The bike is in perfect shape with a documented maintenance sheet. you can see the pic. The only drawback is the chain drive but I can live with it.

I would like to thank you all for your help on this forum.

Yeah, I've had two other bikes since selling my Vulcan 750 and I'm still here.
Why you sell yours and why did pick the less powerful 800?

I've ridden a Vulcan 800 before, and I can see way he picked it! I liked it a lot. but 2 things that would keep me from buying 1.......first it's chain drive. had a bike with chain drive, yup, I won't do that again. lol 2nd, it has spoked wheels! no thanks. mags all the way for me! outside of that, the Vulcan 800 is a great bike.

if it goes vroom or boom, I LIKE IT!

That's why I went with the 900 Custom. I'm not a big fan of spokes.

I gotta go with Shark here, I went to a lot of trouble to get cast wheels and tubeless tires on mine and it came with spokes. It's just too heavy to be wallowing around beside the road trying to fix a flat,now a cheap plugging kit and some air and I can make it home...with my back intact.

If you see it on my bike I did it
