Question shocks & tire pressure

My bike is more heavily loaded than usual for my upcoming trip. I normally set the shocks at setting 2; I usually run 30 psi in the front tire and 34 in the back (stock Bridgestones). I know I can experiment, but does anyone have any general advice about making shock/tire pressure changes with a heavier load?

I set the air pressure according to the manual. I also have my shocks with 30lbs of air pressure in them. You might want to stiffen the dampening.

Max pressure to put in the shocks is 43 psi. Use a hand pump to SLOWLY pressurize them or you could blow the seal. Rule of thumb is take estimated weight and pressurize to 10% of that (if the weight is 300 pounds, add 30 psi).

The dampening will be more of a feel thing. Bump it up to 3 and see what it feels like. If it doesn't feel right, go to 4.

As for tires, I run mine about 2 psi below max pressure the tire is rated. Makes for a comfortable ride.
