i'm extremely pleased to announce that after months of storage, a drive spline lubing, and a complete stator replacement, 'for great justice' is back on the road! i've put about 60 miles on the bike so far and my voltmeter was reading right between 14-14.5v on the highway, so it looks like the battery is getting juice... and no oil or coolant leaks as far as i can tell. i'm going to ride another couple hundred miles locally and then i'm going to celebrate the success. how am i going to celebrate you wonder?

cross country road trip! if everything checks out after the break-in miles i'm going to ride from boston to san francisco and then back. i expect to be gone about six weeks (after hanging with friends in austin, denver, and san francisco). i'm pretty excited... need to get out of boston for a while. i'm tentatively going to head west next thursday or friday.

fingers are crossed that no problems turn up. knock on wood for me.

also... would just like to thank everyone involved with this forum... really appreciate all the help i've gotten here. also would like to specifically thank fergy for his great spline lube write-up. thanks guys!

paul

Sounds like it will be a super trip. I usually only take Lena to work and back at the Airport. Like to parade the girl through the Airport drop off point, past the stretch limo's, high end sport cars, and fancy ladies. I get a lot of smiles
and looks from bike admirers, more than most bikes, cause this bike rulz and has retro class.

Good to hear you're back on the road again, Paul.
I finally got my all my parts in, so I'm hoping within a week I'll be cruisin' again soon.

Best of luck on your coast to coast trip. Sounds like a great way to celebrate

If you're going west out of Austin, you're going to come right through my area, so you'll have to let me buy you some pie and coffee at the Bluebonnet in Marble Falls! Holler at me if you get out this way. I always enjoy meeting one of the family!

you got it fergy! sounds like a plan.

dianna and anton: i haven't worked out my route yet... if i hit conway or chicago i'll definitely give you a shout! thanks!

jetboy: i'll probably be hanging with friends in san francisco for a week or so. i'll give you a shout when i'm there and maybe we can go grab a bite somewhere.

hyper: good luck with the repairs! you'll be cruising in no time.

took justice out today to get inspected and then went for a short 60 mile ride... everything is still checking out. i'm getting excited. planning to leave boston on friday!
