Not going to the dark side anytime soon but....

Okay all so I was in a debate with my moto friend about how much my particular bike might be worth? Of course to me it's worth a lot.

But its a '95 excellent condition and just hit 10,000 miles??

What would ya'll expect to pay for it?

Don't worry I'm not selling anytime soon I promise

I'd think $2500 might be reasonable.

Hmmmmm

Yeah I was hoping $2500 but Nada had it at about $2000 but I think that doesn't take into consideration that this bike is virtually mint condition and like I said the mileage is really good for a 12 year-old bike.

If you had maintenance records and receipts, it could add to the possibility of getting top dollar.

I have always done the maintenance since I've had it. Before I had it the dealer did the 5,000 mile maintenance?

By the way Kelley Blue Book says the bike is worth $3495?

agreed on 2500. do you have anything else with it, ie saddlebags, windshield, grips, new MF battery, anything? while these extras will not raise the price much they might help with "sale-ability".
some people (or at least me) expect their prospective used bike to have some extra stuff since they might not want to purchase them separatley. i'm contemplating purchase of used v-strom (upright sitting, more power with less cc, better fuel milage) somewhere this coming winter/off-season time, and going to be looking for ones with at least hard luggage added. if it takes a bit time (couple month) so be it.

also the timing is very important. when the shopping season going to start around here anything that is on 2 wheels and somehow running is automatically 1000-1200$. so selling in late spring is not a problem whatsoever even for somewhat inflated price. in the end or off season you will have to really suck it up on price to attract buyers.

Good point Anton, I do have the "Vulcan" leather saddlebags and custom pipes so that hopefully will get me $2500 for sure.

For the most part there really isn't an "off season" around here especially with the weather being so warm so early I would think that it would go pretty quickly.

But as I said I really don't know what I'm doing if anything yet.

Thanks for all of the thoughts
