Vulcan vs Cadillac Update

Well it's been a little over a month since I T-Boned a Cadillac when the 85 year old driver decided to turn left directly in front of me. Just heard from the old guys insurance co. yesterday. They are going to total my bike, just too much damage to repair. Think I will hit a few dealerships today to look for a replacement. Don't know if I will ever find another bike that I like as well or is in as nice a condition as my '03 VN750 was.

Have you asked the insurance company how much to buy it back?
Parting it out could get ya a few more $$$'s towards whatever ya end up getting.
Atleast they didn't give ya the run-around.
Good luck in finding another ride.

end of the line?

Maybe there are still a few shiny 2006 VN 750s out there yet unsold?

Yo, Wingman....

are you willing to go new--or do you want to stick with used?

How far are you willing to go to pick up another bike?

Since you're in SC, and I'm in GA, let us know what you're comfortable with, and I can be a second pair of eyes and ears for you....

...just a thought.

What are they giving you for bike? Hope they don't screw you like I'm getting screwed 2041.00 for the bike including tax loss and they said I was 35% at fault even though the truck was cited for failure to yield after a stop. Go figure that one.Minnesota insurance companies suck!

I contested a accident like that, The insurence said they would only give me 80% because I should have swerved. I told them fine I will only pay 80% of my bill. I ended up getting 100% THe person who pulled out infronot of me had the same insurence I did. Don't sign any paper untill you get what you want.

It's been like talking to a wall, even my agent has gotten nowhere, I'm between a rock and a hard place right now. Mn law alows for this kind of thing(shared fault) so does Ia but not as bad. Value is based on NADA which is 2180 retail on mine, accessories don't amount to much either but at this point I took out my westco bat, floor boards, throttle boss, luggage rack, 3 month old siverstar lamp, and led bulbs. Will sell what I can if I don't get another 750. Right now I'm looking at windshield, all right foot control and peg, head pipe, heat shield, saddlebags, hand brake and grip, front turn signal, handlebar slightly bent fork, front fender and helmet. Hopefully the injury settlement goes better which was a spained ankle and some torn cartilage in my knee.
