1st day of Vacation

Got a weeks vacation this week, just found out about it last Fri. it was a last minute thing(wish I hadn't arrowed that small buck last week) Oh well plenty to do in the fall. First thing I did today was drop the V&H's and regoat as the noise was wearing on the neigbhors, now it's to quiet, I knocked out the screens in the mufflers but it didn't do much so I guess I'll have to drill them for a little more sound(Hey Dianna are you gonna answer my e-mail about what yours sounds like with Dynas on it?) Also got around to doing a R/R relocate. Tomorrow I get to pull the right side again as I have a small exhaust leak. Wed it's actually supposed to get above 40 so I might even give it a bath and a wax job As only a few weeks left to ride.

I gave mine a thorough cleaning yesterday. Been gone on a hunting trip for a week and left my bike under the carport but forgot to cover it. Of course it rained sideways one day. I hope you get good weather this week so you can get some riding in. My "riding season" is just getting going good down here!

I didn't even see a deer last week except for the ones in the state park that were camping with us.

I tried that deer hunting thing when I lived in Tx and I thought it sucked pretty bad. I had no private land to hunt and I wasn't about to shell out the equivelent of my house payment to do so on a ranch so I ended up in east Tx southeast of Palastine on public land with about 1000 other guys. Didn't see many deer there either and the ones that I did were to small to shoot(80-90 lbs) The buck I shot up here last week was about 150lb 7 pointer which is on the small side around here.

We hunt Army Corps land and there are some bigger deer but not to your standards. Down here you gotta shoot 2 or 3 just to make a sandwich!

Speaking of deer in TX, when my niece got married, she had her rehearsal dinner on a boat on a lake about an hour from Austin. The chartered bus drove through a residential area, and there were deer everywhere! More deer than you'd find at a zoo! At least two deer in every yard, sometimes whole families of deer. You TX guys ever heard of such a place? And what was up with that?

Last year, we had a deer kill every night during the winter. Not by guns, by cages.

Woody, you wouldn't happen to be looking for a home for those V&H's would you?

mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm rode kill deer, ahhhh I miss deer jerky.
The garbage Co I used to work at in NJ the boss was friends with the animal control officer and when he was called to put down a deer that was hit, if it was hit in the front and the meat was good he would bring it down to my boss who would then make ALOT of deer jerky he used an old oven that was thrown away and it was perfect for a smoker. He got this one 10 pointer once, when it was hit it only had a broken front leg so the meat was perfect
