Raise your handlebars risers

I like a little higher bar; not ape hangers but I'm a little more comfortable with the handlebars a bit higher and pushed forward. I'd already rotated the bars forward but wanted a bit more, maybe an inch or so. Being the cheapskate that I am I've been looking for a while when I found these 1" risers from Rusty Riders here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=360578100851 for $29.99, free shipping. They are solid aluminum (color of your choice) with sturdy, good looking mounting bolts. The different plates in the set (to allow you to choose how much rise you need)(1" max.) have ridges cut in them for interconnecting for a very firm support.
Pictures of setup below. As you can see from the pics the bottom piece fully sits in the lower curved part of the handlebar holder for more support.

To me it's just a more comfortable way to ride, especially if I'm riding double.

Comfort is where it is at, especially at my age..lol... I liked the bar position on my VN750s, but when I was trading for the Sportster I made them put on some from another bike to get a bit higher & wider to actually be more in the position of the stock Vulcan bars...
I also have a bad back and like the more upright riding position... Comfort combined with ease of control makes things nice... Shucks I even took out a loan and bought one of those expensive ($4.97 then) china-mart backrests...lol...
PS-See the bright red expensive backrest in my avatar...lol...
Have a good one...Old Dog...

Guess that's because you haven't been here that long....
Several folks have installed risers...mostly the ones that also set the bars back some too.

Speaking of which I have a set of pullback risers I can't use on my Bonneville (seems their clamps are wider?)
Anyone Intrested I'll take 25 bucks for them + shipping.

(Ill have to check that they'll fit the Vulcan first, as they came off a V- Strom.)
