Mounting Luggage Rack Problem

I'm having an IMPOSSIBLE TIME trying to get the damn hex head bolts for the side brackets to catch their threads using a little hex key so I can tighten them... Anybody have any magic ideas that might help? These freaking things are defeating me!

I think your problem may be that you need to replace the stock screws with longer ones.

I agree. When I pulled mine to sell, I noticed the hex bolts did not go in completely after retightening. I suggest going to Lowes or other hardware store and finding a longer bolt.

I only understand what I don't understand.

The hex head ones ARE the longer ones that came w'the rack!

You need a hex key socket. This is what I used.... chucked in my cordless driver.
