Quick Reference - Lube Points?

Any one have any pointers on what to lube and when? What type of lubes to use ? Just curious for future references.


Vulcan #1 1993 - 28K
Vulcan #2 1999 - 26k
It All Comes Down To 3 Things:
#1 Fuel
#2 Spark
#3 Mechanical
Any One Fails - Then It Dont Run

Do you have a service manual?
In the Clymers manual there is a service schedule.

What to lube:
control cables (clutch, throttle, choke, rear brake on Vulcan),
all pivot points (hand levers, swing arm, steering stem bearings.)

driveshaft splines-front and rear, final drive to hub,
rear brakes shoe pivots, and brake actuating cam in hub

Front and rear axle bearings, (some may have sealed bearings.)
Speedometer drive gears on front wheel.
speedometer cable

What to use:
cable lube or 10w30 oil
moly grease

That`s all I can think of right now.

An owners manual, shop manual, or Clymers would be a good investment for you. Theres a Downloadable one Posted somewhere here.....

FAA Certified Airframe Mechanic
FAA Certified Engine Mechanic
FAA Certified Pilot (Single Engine Land & Sea)
Avionics Technician
Avionics Installer

You'd think you could figure this out yourself....

Be my luck i'd miss just one grease point, then something would freeze up! Got that manual downloaded but the pictures are terrible, remb now, im a newbie to the VN750, but ask me almost anything about general aviation aircraft and with my 30 years plus exprience i could probably tell ya . Just joking with you. The photos are bad ... But the price is good.

I go by the general rule...If it moves against something...lube it.

Just don't lube the bottom of the tires.

I was wondereing more towards that drive line, ive noticed they dont put any grease serts or anything in that area, that surprises me.
