Know your bikes history?

Have you ever thought about your bikes ownership history? Met up with the second owner, by chance, while he was at my brothers mechanical shop a few weeks ago. Seems I am the 4th owner of this bike. The first owner was a US Army Soldier who lost his life while serving in Iraq. He had only put 700+ miles on the bike when he was deployed. His wife let the bike go on foreclosure. The second owner bought the bike from the bank that foreclosed on it. This owner keep the bike for 6 years. He has a son with severe Downs Syndrome and he wouldn't stay way from the bike and let it fall over, puncturing the tank the first time. second time it dented the new tank and he sold it to my brother who had it for less than a year before selling it to me. Just a little history of my bike. The erie feeling is a month ago I had 2 soldiers looking at my bike while I was in a store in Decatur Al. When I came out, I ask them would they like to take a ride on it. They reply that they had a friend that had a Vulcan like mine a few years ago but "it was blue and not dressed up, factory ya know". I said had?, they said he had died in Iraq. My bike was blue from the factory. Second owner changed her to black. Could it be.....

Phenomenal story, thanks for sharing. It's remarkable that the soldiers recognized it, I bet it is the same bike. You got some heritage in your ride man!
