I found an actual shop manual for the 85 VN700/750 but it says its for the A1 models (canadian) WOULD THAT STILL COVER MY BIKE OR ARE THEY ALOT DIFFERENT? THANKS
What model is your bike? You have no signature line, and I don`t remember what you have.
Is it a Kaw shop manual from the first year JUST for the 1985 Canadian model?
I have a Canadian bike, and about the only differences for the 1991 (A7) are the emission control canister, hoses and factory coasters.
I have a 1985 VN700...and the manual says it is for the canadian models it is an actual Kawasaki manual
IMO, the main differences you will find are the emissions controls and coasters mentioned in my first post, less the smaller cylinder/piston diameter specs for the 700 cc engine. The rest of the engine parts are interchageable, including the heads.
Not really a big deal because the 700 piston rings are no longer available for a rebuild anyway.
However, you can swap 750 cylinders and pistons as a set onto a 700 engine case.
The Canadian manual will cover 99% of everything you are likely to need to do.
We should be able to fill in any missing info.
