Talking cables to short? who cares.

was eating a Taco last night when a guy pulls up in an older bike that was on the 'rough' side, both the guy and the bike
i've been around a lot of old choppers back in the 70s where we would just modify it however we wanted to without regard to what it ended up looking like. but i've never seen anybody with big ape hanger bars that didn't have the brake/clutch cables lengthened so they ended up next to our hands.
this guy had about a 18inch high bar, and the clutch and brakes were both about 4inches up the vertical bar. i stared in disbelief. he got his bag of tacos, stuck it between his legs... held the clutch in with the palm of his left hand, hit the starter button, which was on the bottom of the right bar and proceeded to drive away with his left hand holding the vertical bar so he could push on the clutch lever when he needed to shift.
wow... i wish i had gotten a picture.

I was just reading cracked.com's list of advantages of being over thirty, #5 "Everyone is a joke" made me feel safe and more in control of my own life- and yes I could go for a taco right about now
