Helmet Mt. Video Cam--???

Anyony familiar with this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029631VI/...6660_pe_epc_d4 ???
I want a pretty decent but cheap video camera, and one that has IS, and small enough to wear on the helmet... I have shot a bit with my Canon G9 mounted to the gas tank, but the shakes there are a bit bad if lugged a bit, and it is a bit heavy for helmet mount... Besides it is too expensive to drop from a helmet...lol... Any other suggestions...???
Thanks and have a good one...Old Dog...

RAM makes camera mounts that you can bolt to the handlebars..(just like their GPS mounts) You can add some rubber to the mount to help dampen vibes, but a nice smooth road helps the best...

The bars tend to shake less than the tank....but some cameras don't like vibration as much as others.

I actaully was thinking of making a camera mount that you wore around your neck...like those things they make to hold a harmonica while you play a guitar. Might need to be designed to break away in a crash...but would be handy for still cameras too.

KM-I believe you are forgeting something, can you say Sportster...lol...
I have a fine camera mount... http://www.amazon.com/Delkin-Devices...8932122&sr=8-1
But I think I will have to get it on the helmet to absorb most of the shakes...
Thanks and have a good one...Old Dog...

Sorry, no real time riding sportsters...but..

Can't you just suction cup that ^ puppy to your helmet instead of your tank?

We use this one and it comes with a variety of mounts,we used it on the front fender of an Eletra-Glide once with no noticeable shake the suction cup mount is optional in this kit .But having used it hanging off the side of a gas tank,I can vouch for it's durability and stability. The draw back it is tough on batteries so buy some rechargeable Lithium Ions too.

I think some one else on here has this same camera and likes it too.Plus it is waterproof inside that little plastic case.

I had looked at the gopro heros and considered the 960 @ (1280x969)..
http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero-960-camera/
But thought it was a bit expensive, and the 170 at under $100 but it is only 512x384 and I don't think that is enough quality...
So I just thought I would try cheap & low quality as the one I listed is only 640x480 & $52...lol...
KM-I don't know about my mount & camera on my helmet, if its not too heavy and don't give me the limber neck it would be ok...lol...

Here's what I'm looking at. Cheep enough to try. $38.

Ebay seems to have the best prices. I'm opting for a model with the remote for ease of use. Carefull though. Some are selling the older model with only 640x480 image size where most are a good 720x480. Every little bit helps.

With out the remote. $18.99 Free shipping.

I told Ted. between that red helmet and those mirrors sticking out it looked like a giant beetle flying along watching me.LOL.Thats a crappy short movie when we first got the camera and were learning how to shoot and edit ,I just wanted to you to get an idea of picture quality, the cheap one you are looking at actually should be better if it doesn't shake very bad .
