How to modify vulcan750 seat?

My girlfriend doesn't ride with me anymore. So I am thinking on how is the best way to modify the seat so I have more room. Is it as simple as cutting the padding in half and stretching the leather under? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried searching for seat mods here? Lots of folks have done them.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!
