Real News !!

Got this in an e-mail today, and just felt like I should post it...

REAL NEWS

Lindsay Lohan, 24, and Paris Hilton got their names and faces all over the news because they went to jail for a few short weeks or days for acting out, negative behavior, resisting arrest, cocaine possession, being drunk and disorderly, not to mention their insolent attitude.

What do you know about these men?
Justin Allen, 23
Brett Linley, 29
Matthew Weikert, 29
Justus Bartett, 27
Dave Santos , 21
Chase Stanley, 21
Jesse Reed, 26
Matthew Johnson, 21
Zachary Fisher, 24
Brandon King, 23
Christopher Goeke, 23
Sheldon Tate, 27

Do you recognize any of their names? No? None of them starred in a movie or made a record album, hit a homerun or scored a 3 point conversion or did a celebration in the end zone after scoring a touchdown. None of them brags about "showcasing their talents for their fans" while being paid millions and millions of dollars.

Did that help? No? Well then I should tell you that they are all Marines who gave their lives for YOU this week. They died for honor and country. They are all heroes of the highest magnitude. How much did you read about them ?
Honor THEM by forwarding this. I just did!
And I salute those great fallen warriors...

Some of the finest and most courageous people I have ever met were Marines.
When Generals came to visit the wounded coming back from Iraq, I saw a Marine General helping carry the litters...no other General did that. Incredible people. I am very thankful for them and their families.

The veterans of our armed forces are treated like crap after the seperate. When they need the VA, they have to show that they are in poverty!!! Sorry, personal experience here. They served the country, and the country should return that bravery tenfold. I thank my fellow vets for the time served, or serving, or will serve, and any who have sacrificed mind, body and soul for the cause of freedom.

Thanks is not enough for what these fine young men to day in and day out. The rules of engagement that they are stuck with baffles my mind. My nephew is currently at FOB Blessing and my heart goes out to him and to all serving and to all who have served.

Thanks O.D. Hope you had a great Christmas.

Warlord, I agree that our country needs to give better consideration to veterans. I'm not one, but appreciate all their service.

OD,
We can never truly repay the debt that we owe those who have willingly gone into harms way in order to win and preserve our freedom. So all I can say is thank you.

Yes, it's my mid-life crisis.

Sweet Jane...

Thanks OD, unfortunately our media does not recognize that we need a reality check of what's important to our lives and well being. They just keep contributing to the dumbing down of America. Our kids are not being properly educated and our values and respect is going down the toilet with the help of our newspapers and TV. It is very sad that most of the population can name more actors and sports figures than they can Senators and government officials. No wonder, why they allow Ruppert Murdock to own FOX media and many of our newspapers and he's not even an American but he can influence millions of our population. We are headed in a very sad direction here.
