I'm Back

Hello all,

Been away for a while. Still riding though.
Since I last posted I blew out the splines on the rear end, sat at the side of the road a lot and dealt with a lingering headlight problem.

So I put in a good used rear drive, new drive shaft coupling, a new ignition switch, a maintenance free battery and jumpered out the reserve lighting relay and I'm back on the road again. Up to 24,000+ and still enjoying the riding her in the NM desert.

Just wanted to thank all for the info I received here. Made all the changes I saw here and the past 3 months have been trouble free.

Joe

Wow, it`s been almost a year since your last post.
Good to hear you are back now, and enjoying a trouble free ride.
Can you ride year around in your part of NM?

I'm a couple of mile from the US/MX border so we ride all year. Gets cool in the mornings here. But by 10 or so you can pull off the full face and leathers and ride on through the desert.

Took a 200 mile ride last week to AZ. The old Vulcan didn't miss a beat!

In the southern desert areas the roads are decent most of the year. We have mountain areas too that get plenty of snow December through March. Pretty long riding season I would say!

Hello to bstew7890 up there in AB. If you ever get south, run Hwy 9 along the border, you'll love it.

To Journey - Hi. I got 2 reserve relays of Ebay and they didn't solve the problem. May have a problem with the bike. After looking at the wiring diagrams I decided it was easier to just jumper it out. No problem now.

Joe.
