Been away for a while. Still riding though.
Since I last posted I blew out the splines on the rear end, sat at the side of the road a lot and dealt with a lingering headlight problem.
So I put in a good used rear drive, new drive shaft coupling, a new ignition switch, a maintenance free battery and jumpered out the reserve lighting relay and I'm back on the road again. Up to 24,000+ and still enjoying the riding her in the NM desert.
Just wanted to thank all for the info I received here. Made all the changes I saw here and the past 3 months have been trouble free.
