my buddy went sledding with my vulcan

my buddie took my bike for a little ride , then the phone rang he went slideing down the road with it .

now he is in his early 40's has rode before ( though not in a few years ) he said he was comeing down the road at 25ish miles an hrs then said he woke up laying in the road . he has severe rash on his leg and elbow and bruised ribs . the bike fared well just a dented tank scratches and a busted turn signal . he says he doesnt know why but the front tire locked up. after i got the truck and picked up the bike . i got it in neutral and rolled it onto the truck ..???? i dont know if he wobbeled and paniced grabbing the dront brake or if there is a problem, i rode it sunday 148 miles round trip and had no problem with the bike ... i just got home and looked the bike over fired it up and rode it 10 miles ( longer then his ride this am) and there is nothing i see with the brakeing system . still has decent pad errrrrrr

i spoke to him on the phone and he is not believeing it . i noticed it is missing 1/8 of gas and some coolant in the over flow ....

ugggg i need a beer or few

im just glad he is okay the bike can be replaced but im just thankful he is okay minus the rash and pride thing

Let me get this straight. Did he try to answer his cell phone and crashed or am I missing something?

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

A guy where I worked was just hit (in a cage) by someone who fell asleep driving home in the morning. He doesn't remember the accident, only laying there afterwards with the paramedics. They say eventually his short term memory will come back.

Not always. I was in an accident 15 years ago and still can't remember it. I only remember waking up with glass all around me and my wife calling my name.

When was the last time you changed your brake fluid. I seem to remember someone here saying that old fluid could cause the front brake to lock up. Though I don't know if it would release on it's own or if you'd need to bleed them to get them to release. (I know, I know check the Verses.)

Glad to hear your buddy is not hurt any more than he is, and the bike damage is relatively minor too.

Regarding short term memory, I took a hit to the head in 1998 and woke up on the ground no more than 5-10 seconds later with blood trickling down the back of my head, and I had a broken ankle. To this day I do not know what happened. I don`t know if I hit my head and then fell, or twisted/broke my ankle and hit my head on the way down.

The brake would not freeze up unless he did it himself. I have never heard of a brake seizing on it's own except after the driver hit the brakes. They will sometimes release after a bit but if it did it to him it would do it to you if that was the problem. I am very very picky who I would let drive either of my bikes. 1st thing I say is....if you dump it you pay for it to be fixed. 2nd is if your dead I'll bring your ass back to life so I can kill you.
