cold start issue

put in my ngk iridiums yesterday and it seemed to be running great. fired good too, this morning she did not want to fire, took it a good while. backfired a good bit. battery was reading 13.48 with bike off. between 13.5 and13.7 at idle when I finally got it started, 14.2 at 2000 rpm's and14.7 at 4000 rpm's. went to autozone and gave her a good 4 oz of seafoam in case it was fuel related, we'll see what happens.
any suggestions, I need to start riding to work again. hate going out and wondering "is it gonna start today"!

Mine works best with part choke, throttle rolled back all the way. And when it tries to start roll forward on throttle little bit at a time.

on a cold start before the iridiums I had to full choke it and give just a little gas. so you think a part choke would make a difference now. and when you say rolled back all the way is that full throttle or no gas at all?

Rolled back is no throttle and accually take your hand and roll it back against the stop.

Have you tried starting with no choke? And then hit the throttle a little as it turns?

Oh its not cold here by no means, but it is not 102 either, mid 90's. I mean when the bike is good and cold.
still I'd take 102 anyday over 30's and even 40's let alone when it gets 10 here!

Just a thought are your air filters clean? Do you sometimes have trouble with hot starts? Have you done the coil pick up adjustments yet, this may help. Did not see it mentioned in your mods that you have done.

2004 25,500 miles
Led tail light enhancement
Homemade floor boards
Headlight modulator
Extra heat sink on R+R
R+R relocation
Homemade driver's backrest
Fused Stator
Mcct conversion-cost 4.50
Ride-on in tires
crash bar with home made hyway pegs
iridium plugs
home made fork wind deflectors
coil pickups adjusted.
Kenda kruz tires 110/90 170/80
