Which seat, Harley or vn900

Which seat is more comfortable for our bikes. It's between the stock vn900 style or the Harley heritage. If it is the Harley which years will fit ours. I'm not afraid of customizarion but I do want comfort.

I recently added the seat from a heritage and LOVE it! Took some modification as the front mount wasn't adequate and the rear mounting solutions are quite different between the VN and Harley.

I used 12mm bolts to hold the heritage seat down, and a piece of flat steel as the tongue for the front mount. I also stripped the seat and cut a good portion off the crotch area. This wasn't a necessity, but I didn't like the looks of the crotch pad riding up the tank so far. The rear pillion also needed modification to get it to sit on the frame, and I constructed a replacement for the bracket that the sissy bar and toolbox mounted on, opting for some U channel and flat steel to cap off the back area. Using the 2 outside bolts from the rear of the front seat to mount the rear pillion on was challenging, but worked in the end.

Check out my blog for the details and I'd be happy to offer any insight I can from my experience.

I recently put a VN900 seat on mine and I love it! I did a post with pics and explanations on how I did it. I can't say if the Harley seat is more or less comfortable. Go to the Harley dealership and sit on some different ones and you'll know then if it's what you want or not. Good luck

I did a heritage transfer a couple years ago. I love it. Or loved it. Still waiting on the insurance company's responce.

The 900 loogs good for a gunslinger!
