My bike came with the original keys and some aftermarket ones. The aftermarket ones are cut so you cant push down and they wont unlock the forks (thankfully they wont lock um either) but will work in the keylock to start it.

I had this problem with my 85 - locked the forks and could not get them stinking unlocked. Took about 1/2 hour of giggling the key, and was going to get a set of channelocks on the key or an angle grinder to the frame tab when it suddenly unlocked.

I can't exactly recall how it happened (and I'm not about to go and try again...) but it wasn't forced in any way. As Ruger mentioned, pushing down on the key may do it.

Do you really jerk & shake the bars while trying to turn the key...???
I know, its not a car but it might work, it does on a car... I don't think I have ever locked the fork up on a bike, I guess some places it might pay though...lol...
