Just changed my handlebars to a lower profile. The clutch cable is to long. I will replace it with a nice shiny one that is 4 inches shorter, ( no big deal ) My problem is the throttle tube doesnt return to closed now when I twist it. It twists easy but wont decelerate. Can I adjust it or do I need shorter cables for that too ?
If the cables are too long, they shouldn't do anything but not look good. It's when they are too short that you run into problems. Unless you zip tied them in place to hide the extra length. In that case they might be binding. Jerry.
Check that you did not slide the throttle too close to the bars. This would cause a drag on the return action.
Also check that the throttle grip in not mounted too close to the throttle. This will also cause a return problem.:smiley_th
Also make sure that there are no sharp bends in the cable.
