Scared the...

Scared the [email protected] out of myself today. (but it was kind of fun) I was out riding and came into a turn a little faster than usual (OK a lot faster than usual) and all of a sudden my left peg is scraping the pavement. Now I have to admit ladies and gentlemen that when you guys said your were scraping your pegs I thought you were exaggerating until this happened. But now I know...

I scrape my pegs all the time. But that is about as far as I will go on a cruiser, with cruiser suspension and cruiser tires. Jerry.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.

I must be braver in a right hander, as I scraped the right peg much more than the left, but did occasionally scrape the left...
I have the forward controls on the Sportster, and so far (chicken I guess) have not scraped either way...

Welcome to the club, Ron! Scary isn't quite the right word, though. Exhilarating is. I never try to scrape the footpegs, but I have and it's quite a gusher, ain't it!

I must ride like a grandpa or something because I've never scraped a foot peg. The closest I ever came was when my kickstand gave (my fault) and fell into my wife's Cadillac....whoops! Good thing that car was in the way or I might have scraped something!

Man, that's a pretty fair lean into a corner to scrape a peg.... I've always wondered what would happen but not enough to try it. You guys wouldn't want to ride behind me I suppose. Guess I just got all of the fast riding out of my system from motocross.

You need to get some titanium bolts for scraping. I hear they throw mega sparks at night and any cagers following, back right off.

While don't recommend this,it is fun in Ideal conditions, smooth straight stretch of four lane,I scare the pants off of some of my buddies by taking my left foot and pushing the centerstand down till it touches the pavement and it throws a shower of sparks outa both sides ,the first time I did it one of my budds thought my frame broke and was dragging the ground, scared him half to death, he still laughs about it. It works better after dark when they cant see what you are up to and shows up better too. Again I say don't try this at home ,I am going to try to restrain the urge myself as i can see too many things that could go bad in a hurry,But if you don't step up to the edge every now and then you are taking up to much space.
It also reminds me of a joke ,what's the last thing a redneck says before he dies?...."Hey Ya'll Watch This"

If you see it on my bike I did it
