how many hours?

I am using tax refund money to repair the old motorcycle as I am getting married and cannot afford to BUY a different bike and dont have the time to do the repairs myself. The clutch is leaking on the lower left side of the engine, the right valve cover seal is leaking, the carbs are not synced and the a/f mix is off. There is also a fair amount of oil leakage but I havent pin pointed the origin yet... I think the cam chains need to be replaced as well () new springs for the ACCTS didnt work, and MCCTS didnt work.

How many hours am I looking at for repairs? The rate is $65/hour plus parts and if it's gonna be more than 10-12 hours then screw it, it's for sale, lol...

thanks!

Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, it's not just the labor hours, but the parts may kill you too. Those cam chains are about $67 each bought online, but who knows what the shop will charge you, it may be double that...

With all those problems, especially if you have to have a shop do it, it would cost a lot more to have it fixed than to buy a decent used bike. Prices are way down now on Craigslist due to the economy. The cam chains alone would be at least $500-$600, including labor. Dealers almost always charge more, a LOT more in some cases, than independent shops. Jerry.
