Happy Days!

Greeting to one'n'all

Up nice and early this morning. Sun breaking through the clouds, dry roads, Temp 1 C, surrounded by poker face cage drivers, all is well with the world & feeling pretty smug.

Criusing at a steady 60 mph. Crack the throttle open to accelerate into the third lane of the motorway when SNAP! Breaks throttle cable!

A**hole tightens! Don't panic! Weaves through traffic to hard shoulder, parks bike & starts to beathe again.

Ho hum. I love being a biker!!

Ride free, stay safe

Regards to all,
Martin

Whew.....Your gonna have to ease up on that gorilla like strength when your rolling on the throttle. LOL I`m glad to hear you kept your wits about you, and got pulled over to the shoulder without further excitement.

Hey Martin, glad you kept your cool and got to safety. Could have been much worse if you didn't handle it as well as you did.

Was this the original throttle cable as far as you know? Anyone know how long they usually last before needing to be replaced, or do they? And did you notice any changes in your throttle play prior to it snaping?

Hi Rubyrick,

The throttle cable was the original as far as I know and there was no warning whatsoever. The bike only had the 'pull' cable fitted anyway. The PO had obviously removed it for some reason!
