You have chosen an awesome way to find yourself.
"Goin' down that, long, lonesome highway...."

Good luck.

I understand the need to take off and try to find yourself. But may I just say that if you do this, please don't burn any bridges with your employer, if you have a steady job. Ask for a leave of absence under the family leave act so that you don't get fired. In this economy, it would suck to go out on a whim and loose your job over it.

My personal advice is that if someone really wants to find themselve, their purpose, what and where they're supposed to be, prayer and fasting is the way. I believe God has a plan and a purpose for each one of us, and He wants us to know what that plan and purpose is. Now this is my personal advice. Please PM me if you would like to discuss more about what the Bible says on this.

From the Keith Green song "Run to the end of the Highway":

Well you can run to the end of the highway
and not find what you're looking for,
Moving won't make your troubles disappear.
And you can search to the end of the highway
and come back no better than before.
To find yourself you've got to start right here.

If you're traveling for fun though, go for it! LMK when you get to California, I'll show you all the best roads.

The journey is the destination.

"...you've got to start right here." That's the key. I've had a similar experience in my life and I had to learn that I couldn't run from me... I full circled back to where I started. We all want something different and better. But like Keith Green said, "If you find a place like that Ill go there too." Hang in there, friend.
