I've done some research and can't find any reference to the VN meaning anything other than the model designation. The Vulcan line is the Kawasaki Cruiser line of bikes.

VN is for Vulcan, as in the Vulcan 750, Vulcan 800, Vulcan 900 etc etc.
Vulcan is the blacksmith God of Fire and Volcanoes in Roman mythology.. hence the line of accessories "Fire and Steel" brand that goes with the bike.

VN is the first and last letters of VulcaN. The VN700/VN750 was the first Vulcan, and IMO, still the best. Jerry.

I am a motorcyclist, NOT a biker.

VulcaN... VirginiA

yeah... that's what I've always assumed... VulcaN... first and last letter. I live in VirginiA... not VI, but VA. VN750 is way cooler than VU750!

It makes sense, except when you look at the other models. EX250, EX500, EN500, ZX6, etc.

Those are all Ninja lines (the en500, though a cruiser style still has a Ninja motor). I could make up some wild hare story about how it is somehow still related to some ninja move/title/whatever but I won't.
I just know VN is Vulcan and their whole Fire and Steel marketing hook. *L*
