New rattle

I've suddenly aquired a new rattle that I cant' quite pinpoint. It occurrs at around 2500 rpm and again at around 3500 rpm. It's coming fron the front of the bike and sounds metallic. Anyone have any ideas?

So, why is a raven like a writing desk?

What all have you checked?
Many times it's something loose on the exhaust. Could be something in the headlight bucket. Maybe a tank bolt is loose?

have you done an ear shave? I just had to shim my gas tank due to the left side K&N filter rattling against it.

I know this may sound funny.. Do you have a single key when you ride or a bunch of keys on a chain.

nope just one key. on the ride home today I went down some empty back roads to run up and down through the rpm range and it seems it is the gas tank. I double checked the mounting bolts and they're tight but I can still wiggle the tank. Is there supposed to be a rubber bushing in there?

Yes, in the side tabs and the rear. Look for them here http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....KawasakiMC.asp

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!
