VN750 chat

I just wanted to let yall know in case yall dont read the Admin/Tech Support section (https://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?p=114018) but I set up an IRC server for this board. If you don't know what that is, it means it is a sever that you connect to with a program that allows for live chatting. It is just an experiment for now to see how popular it is. It won't replace the forums because there is a lot of useful info stored on the forums. It is just a place to waste some time when you are bored. If you know how to use IRC, here is the info: 174.46.4.227:6667 #VN750. I am working on getting some code that will allow a chat window to be placed in a web page so you don't need to get a program to connect. Message me for any questions.

I think the link I posted makes it about as easy as possible. All you have to do is type your nick name and hit connect. Feedback is welcome. I am still tweaking it.

It definitely should be a sticky. I bookmarked the link so I could access it without having to look for it. Pretty cool! I can see some good use coming out of this! Thanks ferdereff! Well done!

Glad yall like it so far. Im working on making a little bot that will keep the channel up and live there full time. It will also be able to manage user names, grant admin rights to people, tell you the weather, etc. Still working on that.

EDIT:

Also wanted to make sure everyone knows that nothing in the IRC room is being recorded so if there is some good info going on in there it will be lost forever. Logging can be enabled and I can post the logs to the site or a site every so often to preserve useful info. It is all in the works.
