do i need a new juntion box?

i have the ongoing fan prob that hasnt been fixed yet (as it, it wont turn on)

i can jump the fan directly to the battery and it runs.
i can ground the temp switch to the frame and it does not run

ive attempted to test the JB by putting my multimeter on the blue fan lead and ground then grounding the fan temp switch but i get at most .1v

FWIW, the junction box is almost new... but, like my R/R it came off of a Ninja's wiring harness as i was told they were identical..... (and they certainly look it. all connection pins match up, same fuze arrangement, etc)

thanks!

There probably is no fan relay in the Ninja junction box. If you still have your original JB, you could open up them both and compare.

yes the ninja has a fan relay, but your problem sounds like the relay is shot, i have found that getting a good used JB without any faults is about 1 out of 3, their is a solution though, you can usually take to broken ones and make a good one. another idea would be to just splice into a key on hot wire and wire in a switch. the only draw back is the fan won't run after the bike is shut down. but that isn't that big of a deal

Just double checked my memory by cruising a few parts websights, and sure enough the Ninja has the exact same JB as ours, and it has a cooling fan... Not sure where you got your info from Papa

Not certain info, just my reconing what the problem could be. I do not have the Ninja manuals, but do know that the ZZR600 has a similar box without the fan relay and thought this could be the case with the Ninja box too. Sorry.
