I finally got a VN750!

Just looked at 2002 VN750. It has a Corbin Seat, V&H pipes, and some nice custom grips. He also had the Clymers Manual. All it needs is a good wash and wax. It's in really good condition and only has 5000 miles. It was serviced a year ago and the guy had all the receipts. I heard it run and it sounds good. The only thing that's left for me to do is test ride it tomorrow and then buy it most likely. I talked him down to $2700.

I just sold my 1986 Yamaha Radian a few days ago and I'm eager to ride again.

Welcome! I say this because it sounds like the VN750 is already purchased and what a purchase! Some good mods and an owner that knows how to take care of the bike. Enjoy!

Great buy. Let us know when it's finalized. Some pics would be nice, too.

Congrats on getting a great bike, you're gonna love it! You gotta a great deal on it too: good year, not old, low miles - can't beat that price. Definitely post some pics after you get her. Oh yeah, and welcome to the greatest forum on the web!!

Bought it! Woo hoo! I love the bike, doesn't feel like a huge step up from the Radian in handling. I just gotta get used to putting my feet forward instead of below me. I also need to get used to my arms being fairly close together with the stock bars. This bike was truly a gem. It runs really good. Those pipes are super loud! I might look for a heat shield for them, because I can see parts of the pipe turn blue from the heat. I'm getting my title tomorrow.

It was fairly dirty sitting in his garage. I gave it a good once over and it looks practically new already. I need to get some chrome polish and wax to further clean it up. I plan on draining the oil this weekend and probably will put some Mobil Synthetic oil in it. Is that pretty good oil for this bike?

I will try to post pictures when I got her nice and clean.

Edit: Just found out I got a MF battery. I think anyway. It's the YB14L-A2 Yuasa.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome! You'll want to check your splines and get them lubed up as soon as possible. You will really enjoy the bike, and this great group!

Turns out they are actually Cobra Pipes. I guess they don't have heat shields. I bought some Blue Job to get rid of the discolored parts though. I should of checked and not took his word for it. Cobra or not it was still a great deal and they sound great. The Oil still looks golden in the window. I will probably still put some Mobil 10w40 Synthetic in it though.
