Traded my VN750 off Yesterday---

Well since I wrecked "Clyde" and bought Dixie I have not been dissatisfied, Dixie was just not the bike Clyde was (wish I had kept him and fixed him up), she did not have the getup and go, didn't handle like Clyde even got about 8-10 mpg less, I just don't know, they were the same year, both 06s, but so much different...
Well anyway I traded Dixie in on a new 09 Sportster xl1200 C with a lot of accessories I had put on it, so I won't get the bike till either Friday or Saturday as some things were not in stock... The accessories and stuff turned the $10K bike into a $13K+ bike...lol...
I have wanted to try one, so at my age I figured I better get on with it...lol...
I'll probably be the newbie hanging out over on the Sportster XL forum, but I will also be here a good bit as this is one of the best bunch of bike folks I have been around or hope to be around, Thanks Folks for being here...
I feel like I am abandoning an old friend, I am deminished, but I will still visit here... So good luck to y'all, and get those kick stands up, safeties don't always work...
I just wish I could have traded Dixie for a new 2010 VN750...
PS-I have my old handle "Tater" over on the xlforum...
Thanks Folks and have a good one...Old Dog...

Hope you enjoy the new ride, and don't be a stranger.

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Enjoy the new ride, I love my Harley but still enjoy riding the Vulcan too. Ditto on sticking around this site, it's family and no matter what you ride you have friends on this site.

Congrats on the bike OldDog, you've got friends here so don't be a stranger. I had full intention of getting rid of my VN750 but the longer she stays the garage, the more the bank account heals. Its gone from "I have to sell her" to "Do I really have to sell her?" Guess we'll see. Best of luck with your bike, stay safe and post pics when you can...

Congratulations Old Dog, I know you've been talking about that Sportster for a long time now! Enjoy the new wheels, and I know you'll still be around here. It's a family thing...
