New guy with a couple of ????'s

Hey there all. Have a couple here for ya......I have an 02 Vulcan 750 which I must say I do like, was a little worried it was going to be too small for me, it is, but I am ok with it, rides nice and bottom line, I like it....so back to the questions.....I want to put cruise control on this thing, I need advice on how to go about doing this. What do I need to buy, approximate price for everything, etc.

Next question....I want to put highway pegs on it....I see where there are bolts in the frame for maybe an engine guard or something like that?? not sure, but here lies the problem. I have different pipes on it that blocks the right side bolts......any other option out there that might work? I am looking at a 2000 to 2500 mile cruise in July and would like to be a little more comfortable.

Any help out be GREAT!!!! I am glad I found this site.....

You might go with the UNIVERSAL VISTA CRUISE CONTROL (for 7/8 bars). It'll cost you about $30 and is available online a various places.

For the highway pegs, I'd go with an engine guard ($96) from Kawasaki to mount pegs on.

does the vista cruise work? Do you have it?

where would I go for the highway pegs? Any suggestions if I get the engine guard?

Yes, I have the Vista Cruise on my VN750, which ever one I'm riding the most on long trips. The Vista is actually a thumb actuated throttle lock. When in an area where my throttle level isn't needing changed, it will lock the throttle in whatever position I want it, until I want to unlock it.

The engine guard is Kawasaki Fire & Steel Part #K3200-023A. Go to www.buykawasaki.com/ to see it. I found one at MICHAEL ANDRETTI MOTORS online, and another one on eBay to get mine. Then I just added a set of O-ring Pegs from JC Whitney ($25).

If you are interested in electric cruise control, Audiovox makes a small unit for autos that has been adapted by many riders to motorcycles, model ccs 100. It can be purchased at http://www.brandsplace.com price is 80.95 plus shipping of 9.19. I do not have the expertise to know if it can be adapted to our rides, but I am sure there are many on in this group that will help.

One note on the engine guard.. for either the Fire and Steel one (better chrome and fitment) or the wingerline (quality is sometimes missing on fit and finish) you will have to loosen that right exhaust so you might want to have a new exhaust gasket handy.
