So i kinda got hit by a car a little

This morning started as every other day. Heading to work at 0530. At about 0550 i was within 300 yards of the gate (navy base). I went through an intersection just as a car darted across the road. It missed me. But it hit the minivan behind me in the other lane. I heard the crash just as i slowed down due to trafic backup. Then the white minivan very much so out of control came in to my lane and cliped my right hand/handle bar (i think with the mioror). I didnt go down but i went in to the wind screen and i lost grip on my cluch so i staled out. Luckly it was stop and go trafic to the most part so every one saw it and noone was going fast enof to be a danger. I made sure everyone was allright and they had com's with the police and then inspected my bike. Nothing wrong, i think my hand took most of the blunt. Im fine dont even hurt any more but it might brus a litel. And the few years iv been riding worying about someone not seeing me, didnt matter today.

So how was everyone elses day??

Not nearly as exciting as yours! Were you wearing gloves?

I'm keepin' all the left over parts. I'm gonna use 'em to build another bike!

Glad your ok. I know exactly the kind of traffic and idiots your are talking about if you were heading into the gate that is near the NEX. I always hated that intersection. I was stationed at NOB back in 2001 on the U.S.S. George Washington.

Glad you are not hurt. I know I have to get better gear when I am able to ride again, especially gloves.

Clark, sure glad it turned out to be a minor inconvenience rather than a surgical dilema. A good pair of full-fingered protective gloves that cover the wrist are a very good investment. Good thing you invested the day before the mishap. Smart move!
