Yet another "Lance" question.

Dude you're popular huh?...LOL. Are you a KawaTech or just no your chit about the VN750's or all Vulcans or bikes in general?

I been trying to do some research on the VN1500 Classics and haven't found an definite answer thus far to my questions, so I bow to your knowledge.

I've heard that they had a recall on the '96 VN1500 Classics because of a slip and a grind from 1st to 2nd gears. Do you know anything about this, if you do, what was their way of fixing it? If you have no idea thats cool too, would you know of anyone that might?

Thanks Bro

I do believe that on the Kawasaki site, you can enter the VIN number and see if there have been any recall's.

No I am not KawaTech, I have much more knowledge than they do!! LOL

The only Recall for the 96' vn1500 Classic that I know of was for the battery leads.

There is a recall for the 97' vn1500 transmission, the gears were not made to spec. and it would cause wear and failure of an adjacent gear causing it to lock up and send the bike into an uncontrolled slide.

It affected about 500 bikes, there may be a TSB for yours ,I will do some checking.

I have seen this talked about some on VROC.org forum. I know there has been some concern with the wiring harness laying over the rear cyl on the later 90's 1500's. One gal lost her Nad on the way to KY in a fire caused by the wiring. She posted photos at the gas station with it engulfed in flames!
The plastic odometer gear wears out and there is a replacement metal one for those bikes. Like I said, if you want to know about that bike, ask about it on Vroc. There are over 30,000 members and a lot of our members here are also vroc members.
