It's been a bad two months

Problems in the last two months:

Cam chain spring failed.
Clutch failed.
Tires wore out.
Stator failed, for the fourth time.
Water pump seal failed.

I'm depressed.

The journey is the destination.

That's awful. Especially the stator. There has to be a common problem why your stator went out 4 times. Perhaps it's not grounded properly. Anyway, my heart goes out to you...

If memory serves me correctly, your bike is an '06 model....right?

When you replaced the stator b4, what brand(s) have you been using? Kaw? Electrosport? Rick's? Or someone else? Did the rest of your charging system check out ok (r/r working fine)?

What's the odo mileage on your bike now?

Yes, 2006 model. The shop replaced the stator, so I don't know which brand they used; most likely the stock Kaw stator. It's been covered by extended warranty each time. I've moved the R/R.

40K miles.

Wow! Thank goodness you bought the extended warranty. Sounds like it's probably paid for its self. There has to be a cause. Never heard of that many failures on the same bike. Seems like Kawasaki should get involved with this one. You might ask over on VROC. There is a KAW rep that I believe hangs out there or at least someone can point you to him. I've heard of him pulling strings for different folks that are VROC members.

If this is your 4th stator failure in 40,000 miles....I would be inclined to next use another brand/model stator--another shop for repairs--or both!...........

All the aftermarket stators are (supposedly) designed to outperform the OEM unit, anyway.

Personally, I'd try a stator from Rick's, next...b4 any of the others.

Without question I would take my baby to a different shop. Can't be that 4 stators were bad. Has to be the installation. Find a new shop!

I'd have to agree. Find another shop, or take the bike back and get a refund under the Lemon Law.

As I am not an attorney , you should talk to one first to see if you have a case.

My last suggestion is the painfully simple one, get rid of the bike before your warrenty expires.

Off hand I'd go with the first suggestion and find another shop, along with a few calls and letters to Kawasaki.
