thinking about handlebars

i have never been a big fan of the stock vn750 handlebars. i have been thinking about installing beach bars that pull back. i have searched the forms but not much luck. i was wondering if anyone has installed these? i was wondering if you can just swap out the original bars without buying cables or anything. some insight, pics or a link would be great.

Mine are lower and wider than stock, but not enough to call 'em beach bars I don't believe. I think they're about 2-3" shorter, and 2-3" wider and still use the stock cables.

Probably doesn't help much, but there it is.

my new handlebars are a little taller, a little wider, and a little more pull back than stock. I am short on the throttle side and the wiring is tight on the left. I had to order new throttle cables and a longer brake line.

I too would like beach bars, and enough bigger that I would need new cables. I'm also watching these threads and taking notes!

I'll post pics when I am done-- I work this weekend, but I might get it done by Saturday morning if I get the items soon enough.

I'm no metal worker but shouldn't it be doable to modify the existing bars then? Take them to a shop w/ a bender or brake or whatever it's called and have them modify what you've already got? Then you know the cables will reach. I wouldn't think it would be terribly expensive.
