To Drifter or not to Drift?

OK fellow Vulcan nuts, I gone ahead and sold my '68 Charger today so now I have a serious pocket full of cash and I am really wanting a VN1500 Drifter. The problem that I am having is locating one, I can find the 800's easily enough but it doesn't seem like anyone is selling their 1500's, wonder why that is? I don't really know to much about the Drifter other that then 800's are chain driven as the 1500 are shafts, big bonus. So my questions are, if I can ever find one that is, whats the pro's and con's of these beauty's? Do you know anyone that has one and if so whats their take on it? What should I look for while shopping for one? Know of any for sale, sense I work for a major Airline travel to view it isn't a problem. Tell me whatcha can about these sweet machines.

Pretty rides aren't they?

Peace

Hey thanks for the lead. All I have to say about that guy is "Some peoples children....sheeesh" His asking price and the book value are NO WHERE near each other...LOL. I'll send him an email stating when they are tired of attempting to sell it for nearly double of what its worth, I'll give him book.

Thanks a bunch, any others out there people?

Peace

They do look nice yes and they are on sell for $6400 at my local Kawa Dealer as we speak, but that Drifter has a really soft spot in my heart. I always loved the Indian Chiefs and well I don't have anywhere near that type of scratch so the Drifter is the next best thing.

Hey thanks Hyper, I looked through there and am comming to the conclusion that maybe I need to wait until fall to purchase, the prices are outrageous, anywhere from $1200 TO $3000 above what a bank would give you for it. Sometimes people really pi$$ me off.

Yeah, but with gas prices going up again, some people are willing to pay what others are asking. as outrageous as it may be.

Keep looking, a good deal will show up eventually
