That's some nice mileage to put on your baby. I'm about 1/3 the way there, and loving every minute of it. What year is your bike (how long did it take you to go 30,000)?

Nice Denny! You're a long way from any world record for our bikes, but its a nice personal record!

An old friend of VN750.com and the yahoo group had over 115,000 on his when he gave it to his brother in law who's probably still riding it...

I was just impressed by the fact that it had run 30,000 with no major overhaul with about any V-twin much less one that revs like these little engines do 30,000 is significant mile marker, and I rally see no reason mine can't do a lot more without coming apart ,but I don't know how it has been maintained and I want to replace the balancer dampeners, gaskets and do a re-ring along with over size pistons if needed.I think it has found a home and that was a $650 dollar bike when it came home with me,I had an offer of $2500 Sunday evening and turned it down, I can't replace it for that and it is starting to take on my personality now,I bought it with intentions of selling and moving up after i rode it a while now I ask myself ,move up to what?I might buy me a sport bike too,but I ride one up all the time and don't think I cold find any thing that fits and runs like the Little Vulcan, for a decent price although a VRSC Harley Night Rod did make a big impression the on me the other evening, A friend has one and that is the first time on one fast low and pretty good handling ,but about 9 to 10 thousand reasons I won't own one,Denny

I didn't mean it to sound like I was belittling your achievement of 30K! Just wanted you to know that although it is a great number of miles, these bikes can go forever if they're maintained.

No problem I didn't even think of that, I just didn't want to misrepresent the fact that I did not put the majority of those miles on it
