Cool waving death face 2 face

Few days ago my wife and I were riding back home (Panama) from a long trip from neighbor country Costa Rica when suddenly on a two lane road I encounter a passenger bus full of people and going slow by bike standarts. As usual there was no clear spot to pass out the slowgoing bus, but then the bus driver gives me a "goodwill" sign to pass him with his hand. Well fellows I shift down to third and begin passing just to find a Land cruiser at full speed apearing in front of me....... HOLY SH...T!!! I bearly managed to pass the bus, but so close to the other car that I can swear my handlebars swinged form the turbulence.
Never ever again Ill trust another drivers hand...

Bus drivers are evil, hateful people. Unless you're a bus driver who rides a VUlcan or a Ninja then you're all right in my book.

It's possible the bus driver didn't see the Land Cruiser until you were already starting to pass him. The roads sound narrow, and I bet there's lots of hills in Costa Rica.

That's an awful broad brush you're fixin' to paint yerself into a corner with, bud; qualifyin' it with "Unless you're a bus driver who rides a VUlcan or a Ninja then you're all right in my book" don't make it a right statement.

I suspect rubyrick has the right of it, but I'm also sure bus drivers south of the U.S. border don't get the training we do up here, at least those of us who work for reputable companies. That said, some of the absolute worst I've seen drive city buses, and also are supposedly well-trained. And, there's a few bad apples in every profession, commercial drivers not excepted; quite likely there's a few in whatever it is you do for a living.

Yep - you got me! Bus drivers south of hte border or in LA, NYC, and possibly Detroit are nuts. Training or no.
