Well, now that I'm considering replacing the Vulcan, I'm looking at going a bit bigger.

If you were to own a different bike, what would be your replacement bike?

I'm liking the Intruder, the Boulevard and the Shadow....

09 HD Sportster 1200 Low + oil cooler & Tach. then many $$$$ on HD accessories.. Well I gotta start an argument someway...lol...
My riding buddy has a Boulevard 50 and loves it, he gets really good gas milage too, personally I don't like the (tank like) classic looks, I like the Intruder looks much better... I think the Shadow is a very good bike too, but again I am not in love with the looks...

I would consider a ZP1000P. Almost bought one of those when I bought my VN. I also like the Yamaha Virago 1100. If I was going for a larger, pretty much stock bike I would look for one of those. I would consider the right Harley as well but I don't have all the models memorized.

But my gf doesn't like to ride, so 2 up isn't really a big consideration, and I mostly ride around town and commute. So I don't need or really want a big bike. Thus for small bikes I would get something cheap with plentiful parts and customize it. My buddy who helps me with my bike did things with an '81 Yamaha XS400 that you wouldn't believe. It gets stares and dropped jaws all the time.

Also since I want to learn more about bikes, how they work, how to work on them, etc. I also think about getting a kit bike and putting it together. Even one of those small Kikker bobbers. Just to learn on.

I would go in the sport tourer direction Kawasaki Concours1400 ,Honda ST1300,or the FJR 1300 Yamaha and if money was no object I still would not buy the BMW it is just ugly.I been doing some researchand I think it would be a choice between the FJR and the STand I 'm leaning Yamaha's way and back to the money is no object class the HD ultra glide Classic would be the pick,Denny

If you see it on my bike I did it

I would go more modern and longer legged: Concours 14 or FJR1300.
