Gas coming from the exhaust manifold?

Most likely a stuck float. Which cylinder is affected?

Sometimes, careful tapping on the side of the carb, enough to vibrate it, will free the float. Use something like a plastic screwdriver handle.

Can also search the forum for .. blowback method ..
