Need a different seat

So a few years ago I cut down the stock seat and put new fabric over it. Now im rebuilding the bike and want it to look nice but I dont want the stock seat any ideas on a seat that looks good and fits right? I may go with a solo seat if I have to but would like to avoid cutting the frame down any tips, ideas, seats from other bikes that can be made to fit nicely or pics of what you have done would be greatly appreciated.

Check out my profile for my seat write up on all the ones that fit from stock. They are all hard to find at this point but it will give you an idea what to look for if something comes up.

The factory seat sucks. The only direct replacement aftermarket seat I'm familiar with is the Mustang. It hasn't been made for a long time, but is a major upgrade over the original.

This doesn't look good, but it might help. The stock sest is still there. I just added more foam and a cover. I'm 6' tall and the seat is way more comfortable this way.

Try the search here, there's some threads about using the Kawi 900 seat and how to mount it. Tried to find the thread by Chuck but no luck. There are others.

I tried a Mustang seat and couldn't use it, was worse for me than the stock one.

A solo seat, or Harley seat is another option, Ole Dirty Doc has a pic with a Lepara solo on his VN. I decided if I try another seat, it will be solo.

Was looking for Doc's pic, found all these instead: solo, 900, Sportser, etc. Kawi Mean Streak is another seat that works.

Thanks guys looks like a mustang or a meanstreak is the look I want, if I can't find one at a decent price I'll reconsider cutting the frame and put on a solo
