I finally got the bike to a running state and went for a test drive. I took a corner faster than I should and the front end just went.

Thankfully all I got was a broken foot lever and some scuffs on the bike, plus some rash on my knee and hands.

Always ATGATT even if it's 20 feet from your garage door!

Sounds like you might've caught some of that sand/cinders that's leftover from snow days. Always a concern on winter rides.

I've got a foot pedal but it has a bend in it, ebay usually has them cheap too.

Glad it wasn't any worse for you.

If you went down on the left side, I'd check the shift lever. They are super easy to damage when the bike is dropped on the left side, and can require an engine teardown to repair. The shift shaft gets pushed back inside the engine and breaks some kind of retainer.
