Pulled the RLU yesterday. Got the cold crank-crank-crank-backfire on first start at 31F this morning. Didn't have that before.
Removed the RLU jumper and installed waterproof switch. Starts on one crank again.

I'm done with the mods! Thanks to the forum for listing these and the help with them.

And the voices say "Are you done???" :~)

Well....

I have to admit to my Kawasaki VN750 engine sounds noobishnis….

Seems it wasn't the cam chains still clanking after minimal readjustment.

Today the voices told me to tighten the sidecar bolts again. While I was doing that, they said "check them exhaust stud nuts... Stud". I did.

In 60+ years of work on engines I've never heard an exhaust leak sound like metal clanking. Always a peeping or roar at
the manifold gasket.

The bike is now quiet. Minimal clicking when cold, very quiet when warmed up. I'm happy!

Yep, I'm a noob. But learning! :~)

So here I am at the curb admiring my "finished" hack. All electrical mods, check, mccts adjusted, check, new oil/filter, check, splines lubed, check, tail trunk on the hack, check, hack adjusted and tight, check. Yes!!!!

Then the voices said "youze know there's no kickstarter…." "Yeah, I know.." "So what if youze needs a jump?"

I now have an external charging/battery monitoring/jump port so I don't have to pull the seat.

Does it ever end?

I went and got some M6x1.0 threaded thumb screws from Ace Hardware to replace the seat bolts, that way if I ever need a jump or to access the battery I don't even need any tools, just open the toolbox and unscrew the seat by hand

Uh, roll down the hill and dump the clutch! I've started it a few times this way. Just don't run out of hill before you get it started

I've thought of that but the voices said "what if youze ain't on a hill? Youze gonna push a 700 pound bike and sidecar up a hill? We wanna see dat, Slick! (snicker snicker)"

Thus the jump port and booster cables in the sidecar.

Today's mod. External holder on the sidecar for my cane!

These have been mentioned before on this forum somewhere.
Expensive, but so can it be if stranded.
Got one. It's really nice.
Can be used to help other folks too, whether MC, cars or trucks.

I tried to find some thumbscrews but nobody local had them, and I didn't get around to welding washers on the bolts.

For now, I carry a 1/2 drive, 10mm deepwell socket in the toolbox, and just tighten the seat bolts finger tight.
