Question forward controls-good idea? or waste of $

I am very interested in purchasing some jardine forward controls for my 750, but for $500+ I would really appreciate any info about ease of installation, feel, basically is it a good overall investment. (I have very bad knees and the stock pegs make them sore after less than an hour of riding, I'm hoping that this will eleviate the problem, bcuz I really like the bike)

Most that have the forward controls like them alot. If you have long legs, they can help alot. You can also mount some "highway" pegs to help stretch your legs out. This would likely end up cheaper than a set of forward controls. I would also reccomend a set of my floorboards, (no hard sell here, but they do let you move your feet around a bit more)
I happen to be somewhat small..31 inseam, but still use my highway pegs on long trips...I don't think forward controls are for me, as they would just put more pressure on my tailbone and do make the stretch to the handlebars seem farther. (not very aerodynamic either)
Sometimes you can find the controls on e-bay for about $300.
